Lord Vishnu, creator and protector of the Universe, is a major God in Hindu mythology. When order prevails, he is depicted sleeping in the coils of Sesha, the king of the nagas. Conversely he is seen riding to do battle with the forces of evil. It is believed that Vishnu had ten avatars of which the most important are Rama and Krishna.
